An E-zine for Young Pagans!

While bumping around the internet yesterday, I came across Copper Moon E-zine. Holy Shamoly, where was this when I was a kid??

Copper Moon is a weekly Wiccan publication for young pagans, ages 13-26. That's right, something that includes teens! These sorts of books/publications are fairly few and far between.

What's even better? It's really good quality, something I'd be happy for my kid to read. The articles are even written by the 13-26 age group (and they are currently seeking submissions!).

I know there are a lot of pagan parents out there that have lamented the choices for their older kids, and a few of my readers are young adults, some going off to college (yeah, Tori!!). I think this would be such a great resource for them all.

Here are a few of the articles that I really enjoyed and that I think give an example of the span of the magazine:
The magazine has been online since 2002, but not always at their current site. You can click in their sidebar to go to some of their archived articles, though.

Thanks! I'm going to check it out.

Even though Gavin might be too young for it, maybe it will still be around 7 years from now. I mean, it has already been around for 7, right?

Or maybe I can save articles of interest or even make some work with a younger child.

First, I saw the title and I got really excited. Then I read the rest of the post and I went from still tired and sort of grumpy, to bubbly and wide awake. xD

This is wicked awesome! I can't wait to start reading the articles. Thank you for sharing this!! Thanks for putting my name out there, too.

I'm sorry you hadn't found them before, I would have mentioned it. Have you run across http://www.pookapages.com?

I love the Pooka Pages and Broomstix, but they are a bit too young for my kids these days. I'm thrilled to find anything that hits on the tween/teen ages!

Pagan Moonbeams is also wonderful!

Oooo!!! I'll have to head over there and check that out! Thanks! I'm always looking for things to help further my knowledge on the path. I haven't been studying for a terribly long time and love reading your ramblings here and at The Modern Pagan. It's awesome that you put so much time and effort into this for other people!! :)

I'm totally going to check that out! You nailed me when you posted 'altar tools on a budget'. I'm a total dollar store/diy witch so I'll be going over to read all about it.

Thanks, dear!

Excellent - I'll be adding the site to the magazine resource list. Yup, I'm still hard at work on the paganparenting.org site, putting in about seven hours of work a day on it. Hint hint. If you don't drop by when it launches I will absolutely cry, Mrs. B. :)

I don't practice Wiccan, but I know people who do. It think it's great!! And I love that you've shared this here. My 15 yr old accompanies me to my A Course in Miracles study group for years now, and has a good handle on metaphysics and none traditional spiritual practices.. all because I exposed her at an early age. People are impressed and often ask her questions, and she's able to articulate her feels and experiences and beliefs to adults as well as her peers. It's awesome I think when we teach our children there are options and use language and tools that they understand. I think I'll add this book to my shelfari bookshelf! Hope this helps!

Blessings!

I'm glad there's a good resource for young pagans. Interestingly, such resources help me as well. I have the book Circle Round which I use for myself (I'm way past having children at home). Although some things are a tad too simplistic for me, it helps drill down to the basics which we sometimes forget in our enthusiastic workings.
