Simple Memorial Day Candle Spell/Prayer

Looking for a simple, magical way to honor those who gave their lives for our country?

Here is my original spell for Veteran's Day, which I have modified for Memorial Day:

Find a quiet space. Light a candle or candles that represents the day to you: (perhaps a red, white and blue candle, one of each color, or just a singularly colored one).

Repeat these or similar words:

I light this/these candle/s to honor the veterans of the United States who have given their lives to ensure our freedoms. For your bravery, loyalty and sacrifice, I honor you and your service. I honor your families and their loss.

To those who are currently in harm's way, let this candle serve as a beacon to light your way home safely.

Sit for a minute and reflect on those who have served. Snuff out the candle, or let it burn down.
