The container itself is a "Caboodle", one of those boxes sold to hold your cosmetics and such. It's got a carrying handle, lots of space, and tons of different sections.
It holds, among other things, a goddess symbol and a piece of shed deer antler (to represent the Goddess and God), a collection of 2 dram bottles that are great for mixing up impromptu brews:
Little metal tins hold a variety of often used herbs and a few stones. A small athame and lighter always come in handy!
In the lower section, I carry a tiny mortar and pestle, a few corn husks, a cloth for using as an altar cover, ribbon for binding, large white candles, various bags, a small bottle of vinegar, a funnel and a tin that contains salt (which is used to stick the candles in for a safe candle holder while out and about - as well as the usual uses of salt). A container also holds a few graveyard nails. Always be ready for anything, lol!
In a underneath section, there are a few tea lights, and a few birthday cake sized candles of various colors. Perfect for quick candle magic! There's also a variety of embroidery floss for witch's ladders and other such work.
This has been one of the handiest things I've ever put together! No matter what work I've needed to do, there's enough in this small box to do the job. It might not contain everything a witch-on-the-go needs, but it covers most of the basics - and a clever witch can make do!

love it! Perfect for a witch on the go!
Very nice! I used to carry a small bag with various items in it - but cleaned it out sometime ago and never put it back! lol Something else I should put on my list to get done!
that is awesome!!!
great! caboodles are a wonder :)
Maybe you can give me some ideas.... my daughter will be going away to college next year. Her dorm room does not allow candles of any kind, I am iffy on incense use and no weapons (her athame would count as a weapon). So, we are looking for ideas for her altar. She will also be working in limited space and with room mates who may or may not be cool with her religious practices. Any ideas? After seeing your portable spell box I figured you might be able to help!
Wow, you're the Martha Stewart of the Craft! I love it! Great idea.
This is really neat!
How wonderful! My portable altar kitused to be a small suitcase that belonged to my late grandmother. I then downsized to a small wood/acrylic box that fits perfect in my camper. I may need to graduate to something like this and find a new place to put it when I'm camping.
Great idea. My witch on the go kit is a bag. A bag crammed full of stuff that I can never find what I want. The caboodle is a brilliant idea.
~caboodles...we had them and now i wish i would have kept mine form long ago...hehehe...clever and well thought out...i would have never thought to have been so organized!! you have my mind twirling this morning with such thoughts...warm wishes and brightest blessinsg~
Love this idea. Have you decorated the outside at all?
What a lovely little travel kit!
Such a wonderful idea. Whenever i have to go and do an outdoors ritual, i always forget something and make a complete mess!
This is fantastic. My friend and I used to take a few things with us on business trips, but nothing compared to this!!
It's all so neatly packaged. Where did you find your little tins?
Oh, nice! I would love one if you decided to sell one in your etsy shop customized (hint-hint) ;)
Thanks for all the nice comments!
Tracy, how about an old letter opening to use as an athame? I found some really neat wooden ones on etsy that are extremely reasonable:

If incense is out, you might pack her some type of smudge spray or send her along with a spray bottle of Florida water (you can find Florida water in some grocery stores and both are sold online in various places).
There are tons of forms of magic that you can do without candles or incense, such as banishing spells, knot work (send her along with a bag of different colored floss or thread!), bubble wish magic (little bottles of bubbles from the dollar store, just whisper your wishes into them!). With a little imagination, she'll be just fine!
Oh, and if she needs something to represent fire, you can find lava rock beads at the local craft store!

Now I'm thinking about a dorm-room friendly spell box...... =)
Wendy, I've thought about selling a few, but I'm afraid of how expensive it could end up by the time all the items were added. I am considering a slightly scaled down model, though!
What a great idea!!! I love :)
I love this!! One of the best ideas I have seen in a while!! Thanks so much for sharing, now i think i will go copy and keep in my car trunk.
And I also used a letter opener in a pinch, it was metal though so I don't know, I used fragrant herbs since candles weren't allowed and the new glade (yes i know) candle look alikes can help.
i used for my small study lamp the bulb rings from the body shop and you just add the essential oil and it will scent up the room, and its not a fire hazard!!
I love this kit!
Oh My!!! Now that is one of the smartest ideas I've seen on any pagan Blog.
Thank you for sharing that.
Blessings!
Awesome! Love it!
How wonderful!!!!!
I really love this idea! As I am going away for a long(ish) period of time soon, I really think this is the sort of thing that I need to set up for myself. Thanks for the inspiration! BB
Brilliant!
Great idea! I use a makeup train case, or my bag. Just depends.
I'm curious what herbs you keep in there? I can never decide which I should keep. Right now, I'm thinking lavendar, sage, peppermint, mugwort, chammomile, and sandalwood. I also keep some of my incense blends - home blessing, protection, and bond/hex breaker.
This is great! It's like a witchy survival kit, LOL!
Shelly, I try to keep it simple on the herbs: rosemary, catnip, lavender, basil and pepper are always there.
Between those you can pretty much mix up something for attraction, blessing, protection, banishing and healing.
The bottle of vinegar works just fine for me as far as hex breaking.
Of course, if I know I'm going to be doing something very specific and need just the right thing, I'll add it to the box for that particular trip. =)
And I forgot to post that there's always a sage smudge in there as well!
This is a great idea. So simple I can't believe I never would have thought of it!
This is awesome. I used to take my emergency essential oils when I had to travel with my job. Peppermint for headaches and Lavender for relaxing and sleeping. I find it hard to sleep in hotels. Anyway, I like this concept even better. Hmm, instead of...do you have a laptop ma'am? No, I have my Magic on the Go box this time. Maybe now those darned meetings will go better. Hope you get a laugh. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for all the great info! I also need to have a dorm safe kit for my daughter and since we are both fairly new this information will help greatly! Thank you so much
Blessings
LOVE this idea!!!
Wiccaboodle!!!
What a great kit! It's not something I'd really thought of before but such a simple and effective idea. Thanks for sharing that :)
This is honestly one of the best things I've seen in a LOOONG time! Fantastic idea! I have a pantry cupboard full of my witchy things, but when it comes down to it, I'm always desperately trying to find the materials I need. This would be the perfect thing to store all my main necessities. Then I could just pull it out and BAM! There we go, haha! And then I could just restock as I need to :) I will definitely be looking for cases like this soon! Thanks again :)
Oh, wow. This is so cool. I want to make one now. I've wanted too for a while now; because I have an old make up kit that looks like a red leather brief case. It opens out into three sections, two side ones and a laptop opening with a mirror on it. Any suggestions about making the cloth inside candle wax proof, or should I just use the electric tea lights?
EucalyptusEllisa, I have a small tin with a lid that I keep 3/4 full of small pebbles. I use it to hold candles or incense sticks - they are safe from falling over, and keeps everything nice and tidy!
Love the caboodle magic case. I will have to make one for sure. So organized! I have made mini or pocket sized kits by re-using mint tins that I have "cleaned" and covered with beautiful "craft" stickers - - actually bookplates that I've cut to fit that I purchased from an Etsy dealer. I take one or two with me when I travel for work as they have enough room for a tiny oil bottle, herbs, crystals, tiny votive, etc. Their inconspicuous but do the job. But your caboodle is just what I need for every day.
