Relationship Magic: Recipes for Aphrodisiacs

Inspired by yesterday's  The Doctors episode on better sex, I thought I'd share a couple of aphrodisiac  recipes from my collection today!

There are tons of different foods (oysters, chocolate, artichokes)  and herbs that are said to work their lusty magic, for a variety of reasons.  Some set off those parts of the brain that make you feel excited.  Some get your blood flowing.  Different scents get your brain working in different ways.

The most important thing is to find our what works for you and your partner (assuming you and your partner are two consenting adults. /disclaimer)

Here are a couple of mixes that you might be interested in trying out:

Recipe 1
1 tsp cardamom
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp coriander
1/4 tsp licorice root
pinch of cayenne pepper
a bottle of your favorite red wine

Grind the herbs/spices up to a fine powder.  Add the red wine to a small pot over medium-low heat.  Add the spices and mix well.  Stir occasionally until the wine is warm. Drink.

Recipe 2
2 teaspoons ground cloves
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon dried lavender
1/2 teaspoon dried cinnamon
pinch of cayenne

Mix the herbs/spices together and grind well.  Store in an airtight jar until ready to use.
To use: Add 1/2 tsp of mix to an 8 oz. mug, along with a tea bag (I like black tea the best, but experiment with your favorite!) and a thin slice of fresh ginger (about the size and thickness of a quarter).  Add hot water and allow to brew for 7 or 8 minutes.  Drink.

Anyone else have a favorite  aphrodisiac?

Wonder if you could use Recipe 1 in tea instead of wine?

Pomegranates! I love me some pomegranates. Also anything that tastes silky as well, like cheesecake! That might just be me though.

It's not strictly a formula because it's only one ingredient but I have always found that Drambuie holds a lust/aphrodesia charge really well... Even in small amounts.

In my single days I would use it as the base for lust potions. These days it's a more of a "charged cocktail" ingredient.

I put a little pure vanilla extract behind my ears and on my pulse points, and rub about half a teaspoon of cinnamon in my hair, and it drives my husband insane. It's the best thing I've found so far.

Patchouli EO applied "neat" along with Clary Sage EO provides an earthy scent my man always responds to.

Damiana!

Popular aphrodisiac for men. It has also been traditionally used by numerous women for the purpose of enhancing orgasms.

Apparently.

Also avocado...which means testicle. Name so because of its shape. And was said to act as an aphrodisiac.

Chocolate is great for the skin. I learned that in Dominican Republic with a spa chocolate body wrap. Also considered an aphrodisiac. Melt (not too hot), pour, paint, lick and repeat.
Bliss!

I give my hubs a miniature of vodka & a look. Thats all it takes & we are both raring to go. Vodka helps keeps a certain body part energized!
