Just a quick check in note! I've been super busy lately, working on the book and fighting Snowmageddon 2011 (more snow is coming on Wednesday!). We can barely back out of our drive, and most of the side roads in my area are now basically one way. I can't tell you how many times I almost got stuck today just taking the kids to school - and this is days after the last snow. It's just gotten to the point where there's just no place to put the stuff and it doesn't get warm enough for much of it to melt. The sidewalks and street corners and sheets of ice. Makes me want to lock myself in the house and not come out til spring, lol!
On a brighter note, is everyone ready for
Imbolc? I'll be doing
a simple candle ceremony, and then gathering a bit of snow on the new moon to jar up for later use. I love my bottles of various moon, storm and lake/river/ocean waters! You just never know when they will come in handy!
Hope you are all off to a great start to your week!

A quick question about the snow, lake, storm waters: how long can these waters be kept...should they be re-charged at some point...or disposed of (back into the earth) and new collected?? Robin.
Hi Robin! As far as the water collected from a moving source (lake, river, ocean, etc.), I've always collected these on the Summer Solstice. If anything is left, I return it to it's source the next time I collect.
If I run out before the next Summer Solstice, I refill, but always empty whatever I have (no matter when it's collected) on the solstice.
Snow, rain or storm water (in my opinion) should be replace during the next event, whenever that happens to be.
Same with water charges under the moon phases. If you charge a bowl of water under the full moon, give it back to the earth and refill on the next full moon.
Because it would not be all righty that Winter's "feathers" leave you only to choose a locking in your house of yourself, and not to come out till spring, I present you with this Imbolic Eve's Eve gifty!(<~~Click! They are magicked, for if the snow waaay too deeply be, a simple verbal prodding will have them hovering you above the all White Stuff!
Best wishes,

Right there with you on wanting to hibernate until Spring. I can't remember the last time I longed for Springtime this much.

Not sure if I'll be doing anything grand I'll be at work, yuk!!!
One of my friend invited me over for Sunday before snack.
Coffee is on.
Love the idea of bottling storm, river, lake, etc. water! Can't wait to do it myself. Is there a chance it will get moldy/sour? Could one ad a bit of vinegar to prevent this or would that mess it up?
@Astrid, I've never had any real problem with the water I've collected getting wonky. There's always a chance that it will grow something, though - and of course you should never ingest any of it or use it on your skin in any fashion, just in case.
If you're concerned about it, I'd probably add a smidge of vodka to it instead. (Most of what I do with mine ends up being mixed with a bit of vodka or rum anyway!)
IMBOLC BLESSINGS! Snow, ice, wintry mix, what fun! As for Imbolc, well yes, I was all ready, other than a shopping run. Then hubby got sick. See my blog today for our ritual plans, now moved to this weekend!
