Speaking of which, if you have a child with a disability, please feel free to stop by the great Facebook Page that is Pagans Parenting Special Needs, started by my friend Marcela. I am also a moderator for the group, and there are a ton of great parents there - and even a few Pagan service providers willing to share their knowledge.
At the request of a couple of readers, links on this blog will now open in a new window when you click on them. Sorry for any inconvenience the "no copy and paste" policy of the blog. Unfortunately, I've had way too many experiences with people copy my work and claiming it as their own. Copyright infringement/plagiarism is a pain in the behind. I hope this smoothes things out for those who requested it.
On the Circle of Moms contest, the Pagan blogs have seem to be making a strong showing after taking a few hits from a few of the other contestants. I hope everyone will continue to vote for their favorite blogs that are listed. And when perusing new blog titles from the list (if you choose to do so), if you come across any hate-filled, intolerant rants (and you will), and feel the need to comment, please remember to answer calmly, if only to show what we as Pagans are really like. I believe many people have had their eyes opened as a result of some of the back-and-forth between the Pagans and the Christians - on both sides. I've had tons and tons of kind support from Christian bloggers and readers (not to mention the amazing support from the Pagan/Pagan-friendly community!). Let's try to continue to not only prove the haters wrong, but also continue to reach out to those who have tried to meet us at least halfway. I won't tell you who to vote for
Check in later this week, when I'll be posting about what type of goodies might be as close to you as your front lawn!

I know how frustrating it is to get an IEP meeting together from the teacher's end. Good luck on it! Make sure you have all of the teachers present, especially your middle child's support teachers.( Speaking personally as a support teacher we're always the last people to know that a child has an IEP. )
Oh, I hope that didn't come out wrong. I don't blame the teacher at all. She's been with us for 2 years, and I don't know what we will do without her as my son enters high school. She rarely misses school, so I'm sure the fact that she wasn't there today was because of a serious persona issue.
My frustration was more geared towards the admin who could certainly have phoned me this morning to let me know that she wasn't there and asked if I wanted to continue with the meeting before my entire household changed it's routine to make sure I had a car to get to the meeting - and that just assumed that I would be okay doing the meeting without the one person (besides family) who really and truly knows my son's strengths and weaknesses and how to keep him learning. =)
While it is SO easy to get fired up when our favorite witchy woman is attacked, I am glad you reminded everyone to answer calmly and show people how Pagans practice what they preach. I honestly have not clicked on many other blogs that were posting awful things because I knew it would get my goat up and honestly, it's not worth it. Voted twice today Mrs. B (once from work, once from home) keep up the good work!
Thanks for your continued grace in this whole Pagans vs. Christians. I think is it good we are all getting to know each other :)
Good morning Mrs. B.! So happy you are #1. I did notice more pagan blogs on Circle of Moms contest. I voted for some of them as well. Since I don't have little ones, what is IEP?
Dar Williams, 'The Christians and the Pagans' is my favourite Christmas song.

Dear Ms. Espy, IEP stands for "Individualized Education Plan". It's a legal document that is created for a child who receives special education or related services (such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc.).
Simply put, it lists all the things that a kid's teachers and school should be aware of and doing to help him/her succeed. Each plan is tailored to a child's strengths and weaknesses and is supposed to be followed by everyone who comes in contact with the child for school and school related activities.
The IEP is put together with the child's teachers, service providers and whatever professionals work with him/her along with the child's parents (and the child once they are old enough to start self-advocating).
Thanks for the Facebook connection. Parenting kids with some special needs is something that I could definitely use some support with. At the same time, I love and accept my children and sometimes have found other support type groups a little heavy on the "cure" or "praying for a cure" or "God will heal". Not exactly what I'm looking for.

...and to show what I as a Christian think of their version of Christianity. :)
Thanks to this skifuffle with the blog contest I actually looked at it(which I wasnt going to do)and have voted for several blogs, including yours of course, that I didnt know existed.
Some Pagan, some not but I found them quite interesting.
Its actually made me a bit more interested in the whole blog world and want to get mine going strong.
So thank you!
I love the way you used strikethrough to mark out the "except for me" comment. Very cute :)
Hey, thanks for changing how the links behave. Yes, I'm one of those people who prefers to open links in new windows so that I don't lose the original window in the chaos, so this is great. :)
I was a nurse for special needs children and spent lots of time in the classroom. Even though I can no longer do what I love I still love the special needs, probably more than those that are "normal"
I miss my babies.
