Your right click popup message does NOT stop your content from being copied (It's not like control C is a big secret.) However, it does block "open in a new window" from the right click menu which is truly annoying.
My popup might not stop my content from being copied, but the code that does not allow people to use "Control C" will stop some people. Nothing is perfect, of course, and I know there are still ways around that. FYI, if someone asks me to use my content for non-commercial use, I usually give permission and will send them a copy for their own personal use.
And if you simply click on a link, instead of using the right click, it will automatically open in a new window. Sorry if the simplicity of that is annoying.

ok this is a little funny haha
It continually amazes me that people take time to write this kind of email.
Well-answered, Mrs. B :)
umm where can I find that code for Ctrl c (was I the only one who didn't know about that??) also, can I get the code for the right button thing too?
funny that they would send that to you letting them know they tried to life your stuff lol.
thanks in advance
haha, although the message is quite rude, as is the fact that there is no contact information, i do agree with the content.
there are ways around that are quite simple, yet still annoying if you want to open the link in a new tab with the right-click.
the thing is that if i simply click on a link, firefox takes me directly to that tab, so i am very used to doing it by rightclick if i want to finish reading the page i am on before i go to the link.
there is probably a way to fix this in firefox on my side, i wouldn't know though.
i totally get your reasons too, just wanted to state that it is not a totally unfounded complaint.
best

Yaga, you can still right click to open a new tab. It will first take you to a box that says "copyright protected" and if you press the "okay" button, it should open another window offering to open a new window (at least it does in Chrome).
Sorry if it's annoying, but after finding my copyright protected work being passed off (time and time again) as other people's work, I had to take a step to protect my writing.
So we can all blame the thieves, copyright infringers and plagiarists for the annoyance. =P
I have to admit that I read this and then had to go to your page and right click something to see the pop up! :) It's cute.
And, hello! I lurk around a lot but don't post very often. Great blog!

Thanks for popping in to comment! =D
I have to shake my head, Mrs. B....I just have to shake my head.
If you would like to open a link in a new tab, simply hold down control and click. This should resolve everyone's issues with the copyright code.
The code is just a simple reminder for the honest folk, if someone is malicious they will always find a way. Sadly that is how the world works.
